$4 billion for public housing

Details are sketchy, but we're told $4 billion will be made available for public housing capital projects if the Recovery Act passes. This should translate into roughly $3,500,000- $4,000,000 for New Bedford. We've already geared up and have identified several areas where we'll concetrate our efforts: handicapped housing, electrical grid improvements on two of our sites; walway paving to eliminate code violations and trip hazards and possible "legacy" energy projects such as co-gen, solar or wind power projects. I'll keep posting as the ideas are filled in.
